A headstrong girl finds happiness in cooking but her family disapproves of this line of work. She travels to Venice to follow her dreams, accompanied by her childhood friend. The female aspiring cook meets a rich young man and they spend the night together, causing her to become pregnant.

She keeps her pregnancy a secret from the father but she meets him again just as he is about to open a restaurant. The rich entrepreneur offers her a job as a chef. Can their love bloom again as they work together or will Jillian pick her loyal childhood friend?


This is the plot of the Koreanovela Only You, which will be the second SBS Korean drama series to be remade by ABS-CBN. It will star Angel Locsin, Sam Milby, and Diether Ocampo, with key scenes to be shot in South Korea. Only You will be directed by Rory Quintos (the same director of Angel and Piolo Pascual's movie Love Me Again).


In May 2008 , the Kapamilya Network created the local version of another Koreanovela titled My Girl starring Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson.


During the March 22 episode of Sharon, the three lead stars talked with host Sharon Cuneta regarding their roles in the Philippine version of this Koreanovela.

Angel, who was previously part of the teleserye Lobo, is cast as Jillian. "Siya po ay babaeng laging pumapalpak pero pagdating sa pagluluto, everything is perfect," says the female actress about her character. "Pero ayaw siyang suportahan ng pamilya niya kaya nagpunta siya sa Korea para mag-aral magluto. Pagbalik ko sa Pilipinas, may pangalan na ako."

Sam Milby is cast as TJ and he owns the restaurant where Jillian works. Meanwhile, Diether plays Jonathan, a childhood friend of Jillian who is secretly in love with her.

Diet describes his role by saying, "Pareho kami ni Angel na mahilig magluto pero di ko sinasabi na may gusto ako sa kanya."

Angel and Diether will be staying for about three weeks in Korea this April while Sam will follow a week later. The singer-actor will be touring countries abroad for the Hearthrobs concert with Piolo Pascual, John Lloyd Cruz, and Pokwang.

Kailangan daw muna na mag-bonding silang lahat pati na ang director nila sa Only You para mas maganda raw ang kalabasan ng teleserye nila. Supposed to be nu’ng Huwebes, March 19, ang start ng taping nila ng Only You. Pero naudlot dahil may inaayos pa sa script.


Knows din daw ng boyfriend niyang si Luis Manzano na papunta siya sa bahay ni Sam that night kaya wala raw dapat gawing isyu. And if ever, cool na cool naman si Luis kung sakaling ma-link sila ni Sam.


Dahil na-delay ang start ng taping nila kaya naurong din ang pagpunta nina Angel sa Korea para sa taping ng Only You. Tatamaan ng schedule niya papuntang Korea ang birthday ni Luis sa April. So, instead na susunod si Angel sa New York para makasama si Luis sa kanyang birthday, hindi na niya ‘yun magagawa.


Sa New York kasi aabutan ng birthday niya si Luis kung saan magsu-shoot siya ng movie with his mom na si Batangas Governor Vilma Santos at John Lloyd Cruz.

Though his upcoming soap “Only You” is more of a light romance than heavy drama, Sam Milby said he believes that playing the role of a father to a six-year-old kid is a major step in his career.

“Feeling ko tumatanda na ako,” he told ABS-CBN.com in an interview after his contract-signing last February 4.

“I think kasi mag-fo-four years na ako sa business. Hindi naman parang mature na mature ‘yong role na ito, but to be a father figure in a show means you’re more grown-up somehow,” he said.

“Kahit ‘yong movie na ginagawa ko ngayon with Bea Alonzo, mas mature compared d’on sa mga nagawa ko before. Actually, [ang And I Love You So] is the first drama movie na ginagawa ko. But you know, it just feels good to be doing different roles at the same time,” he added.

Milby also said he feels honored to be working with Angel Locsin and Diether Ocampo, both of whom he admired even before he entered show business.

“Kami ni Diet (Ocampo), hindi naman kami ‘yong friends na nagha-hang out but we definitely know each other and we’re friends naman. Excited ako kasi one of the very first movies na napanood ko sa loob ng Pinoy Big Brother house [ay ‘yong] ‘Nasaan Ka Man’ at nandoon siya with Jericho (Rosales) and Claudine Barretto ‘di ba?

“I was not yet an actor at that time. Tapos now I am acting with this guy kasama ng ultimate crush ko dati na si Angel, so it's definitely a project I am so excited and so happy to be part of. Very big blessing talaga,” he said.

The “rockoustic heartthrob” confessed that had a crush on Locsin when they first met while doing a commercial for a telecommunications company.

“’Yon ang first time na nakilala ko siya. ‘Yong panahon na ‘yan na crush na crush ko siya was three years ago. And bago pa ako pumasok sa PBB house siya na ‘yong ultimate crush ko. “So mahiyain talaga ako n’ong nakilala ko siya,” he shared.

Milby, however, was quick to stress that there was nothing wrong if he got attracted to the beautiful actress.

“Hindi niya alam na crush ko siya kasi bagung-bago ako sa showbiz n’ong panahon na ‘yon. Siguro ngayon alam na niya kasi umamin naman ako na siya ‘yong crush ko. Pero dati pa naman ‘yon,” he said.

Milby is also confident that his revelation would not become an issue between him and Locsin’s rumored boyfriend, Luis Manzano, saying he has always been professional when it comes to work.

“Wala siyang dapat alalahanin [whether or not may kissing scenes kami]. I do have respect for him. Alam niyang trabaho ito, so gan’on.”

He said he even called Manzano to tell him that he wanted to visit Locsin when she was hospitalized a few weeks back due to dengue.

“Nagpaalam ako n’ong dumalaw ako sa ospital n’ong time na ‘yon. Sabi ko sa kanya I just want to visit her naman since Angel and I are friends din. So sinabi ko kay Luis na, ‘O gusto ko dalawin si Angel.’ Pero alam ni Luis na hindi siya kailangang mag-alala or magselos [sa akin],” he said.

Milby said he and other casts and crew of “Only You” are set to fly to Korea next week to shoot some scenes there. They will stay in Korea for two weeks, he added.

“First time ko na pumunta d’on so I know I am going to enjoy the trip with Angel and Diet. Hindi ko pa napanood ‘yong original version ng ‘Only You’ pero binigyan na ako ni Direk Rory (Quintos) n’ong original dub sa Tagalog, so I’ll be watching that. I am really hoping for the best,” he said.

Some scenes for the Pinoy adaptation of the Koreanovela Only You will be shot exclusively in Korea. ABS-CBN’s newest soap will star Angel Locsin, Diether Ocampo and Sam Milby.

Moreover, in a short tete-a-tete with Angel, the actress related to some members of the press that she is really excited about doing the project right away. In fact middle of this month, the group will fly to Korea to start the shoot.

Some of our colleagues even bantered with the actress that it will be ‘cold’ in Korea this time of year…a good excuse for Luis Manzano, Angel’s boyfriend, to follow suit. The actress sportingly laughed off the quick but witty quip.

On a more personal note, Becky Aguila’s ward seemed to be taking care of herself to the hilt nowadays owing to her present sexy and slender figure. Or could it be because of her bout with dengue? More giddy laughter ensued.

Meanwhile, fans of Sandara Park are really hoping that their idol will be included in the Only You’s roster since it will be in Sandara’s homeland where the project will be shot.

The lead female protagonist, Jillian is headstrong and independent who becomes a single mother after a one night stand with TJ.

After she graduates from high school, she goes to a cooking school Korea. She is self-confident, active and is positive towards life. The lead male protagonist, TJ is the father of Jillian's son after a one night stand. He finds it very difficult to articulate his feelings to Jillian.

He is the successor of a huge corporation, Da Ying which consists of 30 subsidiaries. He is the head of the management department. He has the looks and management skills. But his love life is a blank as he is very cold. He can’t forget Jillian after 6 years. So when she appears in front of him and working under him, he puts down all his alertness and wants to get closer to her.

Jonathan is Jillian's best friend who always has had feelings for her.

He was born into a family which runs a cultivating business. Unlike Jillian who has to give up her studies, he completes it although he misses her so as to provide her a better life. He becomes the top chef in one of the restaurants in Da Tong. Originally, he wants to open a restaurant with her. He has thought that she will forget TJ after their one night stand but is shocked to know that Jillian falls in love with TJ.

He later spends 6 years, trying to win her over. Besides providing her family a home, he also looks out for jobs for her. And he treats Jillian's son like his son.

According to earlier reports, the title of the Angel-Sam series was “Buhay ng Buhay Ko” but the ABS-CBN management decided to give them the Koreanovela remake instead.

Angel Locsin will be playing the role of Jillian, Sam Milby as TJ, and completing the triangle is Diether Ocampo for the role of Jonathan. At the helm is “Love Me Again” director, Rory Quintos.

Angel, Sam and Diether will start taping the series in Korea next month. The original koreanovela was set in Venice, Italy but the Philippine version will take on a more Asian feel.

Here’s the PLOT of Only You from Wikipedia:

Jillian (Angel Locsin) is a very stubborn and proud girl who has a passion for cooking. Because she does not have an interest in studying, she runs away to Italy before she graduates from high school to enroll in cooking school. Her high school friend, who loves her dearly and shares her passion for cooking, comes along with her.

TJ (Sam Milby) is from a wealthy family who owns a large hotel and various restaurants. He travels to Korea in search of his mother that abandoned his family when he was young and there he runs into Jillian. Coincidentally, Jillian had also been seeking the mother, who happens to be a chef, to learn the secrets to making great pasta. Both chance upon the mother just as she was about to get remarried to a Korean. She comforts TJ, who is distraught over his mother’s remarriage, and they spend the night together. She ends up pregnant and has to give up her dream - but does not tell TJ.

Six years later, they have all returned to live in Philippines - Jillian working low paying cooking jobs, TJ taking over the operations of his family’s restaurant, and Jillian’s friend, Jonathan (Diether Ocampo), working as a chef for one of the restaurants owned by TJ and financially supporting Jillian’s family, including the child born out of wedlock, because they have fallen on hard times. TJ still has feelings for Jillian and they run into each other just as he is looking for a new chef for his restaurant–with her in mind.

Only You is set to premiere on ABS-CBN’s Primetime Bida on May 2009.

After her movie with Ultimate Heartrob Piolo Pascual andher teleserye with Sam Milby “Buhay ng Buhay Ko” which is not shown yet, Angel Locsin is about to star on of the most watched Korean Drama of shown in ABS-CBN “Only You”.“Only You” is a Korean television series produced and broadcasted by SBS in early 2005. It is the only Korean drama shot in Italy. It features Cho Hyeon-jae and Han Chae-young as the main protagonists. It was first aired in South Korea starting June 4, 2005. The theme song is the same as the title name Only You.

Angel Locsin will now once again pair with Rockoustic Heartrob Sam Milby but this time with Diether Ocampo who apparently reported to be doing a Korean Remake of GMA-7. They had their photoshoot last February 19, 2009. After that ABS-CBN upcoming shows including “Only You” had its Trade Launch at Rockwell Tent where Angel performed a dance number.

Ms. Angel Locsin says that “Remake po siya ng Koreanovela and I’m sure… Tayo kasing mga Pinoy, mahilig kumain. Ako, guilty ako doon. So, itong ano namin, gagawing fusion ng Korean food at saka Filipino food. So, I think magugustuhan ito ng mga Pinoy. Maraming matututunan.” ["It's a remake of Koreanovela and I’m sure...Because we Filipinos really love to eat and I myself is guilty of that. So this project is going to be a fusion of Korean and Filipino Food and by that I think this will be liked by Filipino Viewers. They will learn a lot."]

The said Korean Drama will also Angel and Direct Rory Quintos, the two first worked on “Love Me Again” produced by Star Cinema. “Only You” Filipino Version is set to be aired on May 2009.
